SOCIAL SAFETY &
Festivals are unique experiences built around connection, discovery, and shared moments. These values thrive when everyone feels safe, welcome, and respected. We ask you to actively contribute in creating this environment, because it is something we can only build together.
By attending our festival, you agree to the guidelines below. They form the basis for a safe and pleasant environment for everyone. If you witness, experience, or become aware of a situation that does not align with the principles outlined below, please let us know. All reports will be treated seriously, carefully, and confidentially.
If anyone fails to comply with this code of conduct, we reserve the right to take action. This may result in removal from the event or exclusion from future editions.
Social safety doesn’t exclusively mean the absence of danger, it also means that people feel free to express themselves. We therefore expect everyone to be open and respectful, regardless of their origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, or background.
In an inclusive environment, there is no place for behaviour that excludes, intimidates, or makes others feel unsafe, including discrimination, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, and ableism. Agression, intimidation, abuse of power, or unwanted attention or intimacy will also not be tolerated.
Respecting personal boundaries and being aware of the impact of your behaviour (verbal, non-verbal, and physical) is essential. Everyone is responsible for their own actions and identifying (potential) unsafe situations. In addition, we expect a conscious and responsible approach towards the use of intoxicating substances.
If you notice that someone is uncomfortable or if you witness a situation where boundaries are being crossed, you can play an important role. Whether you intervene directly, offer support, or call for help, every action can make a difference. Choose an approach that suits you and the situation. If intervening doesn’t feel safe, or if you’re unsure, ask our staff, security, or the awareness team for help.
As much as we expect you to look out for others, we believe it is equally important to take care of your own well-being. If you experience inappropriate behaviour, intimidation, an unsafe situation, or anything that makes you feel uncomfortable, please report it immediately. Our staff, security team, and awareness team are there to listen, offer support, and take appropriate action when necessary.
If reaching out in person is not possible or desirable, it’s also possible to contact our team by phone. You’ll find QR codes in various locations around the festival to get in touch (text or call) with this phone number: +31610993341.
Last but not least, you can also contact us after the festival via e-mail at info@elevation-events.com.
The awareness team at Soenda Festival is provided by Sfeermaatjes. They play a key role in fostering a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for everyone. They identify issues, listen, de-escalate and help find the right solution or refer people to the appropriate person.
Sfeermaatjes can be recognised by their purple vests. They walk around the festival site and are present at a fixed location: on the right side of the merchandise stand.
