Do I have to save my bus ticket for the return travel?

Yes, you have to be able to show your hardcopy ticket for the return travel as well. Only upon presentation of your hardcopy ticket, you can re-enter the bus. If you’ve lost your ticket, you can buy a one-way ticket at the bus for €5,- PLEASE NOTE: On the bus, it’s only possible to pay with PIN.

Several types of research have shown that the use of hard cups contributes to a sustainable event significantly. For this organization alone, the use of hard cups saves out two million single-use cups/bottles on a yearly basis. 

Can I keep my cup?

Yes, you may, but please realize that a cup can only become sustainable if we can reuse it during our next event. Are you leaving? Return your cup to the bar. You will then receive a cup token which you can use to win several cool prizes! 

I have a cup token. What can I do with this?

With the cup token, you can win several cool prizes. We’ll announce the winning cup numbers in the Facebook event on the Monday after the event. You can use this number to check if you’ve won a prize.

Before the party:

Check the weather forecast and look for tips under the heading ‘Weather’. Make sure you don’t bring any valuable items/leave any valuable items in your care and watch out for pickpockets. Follow the instructions of our safety staff at all times. Let the people back at home know that you’re okay with an SMS in case of an unusual situation.  

Sexual harassment:

Sexual violence or sexual harassment is not tolerated at Soenda Indoor Werkspoorkathedraal in any way. In case you feel harassed or threatened: please report this to the organization. You can do so at all the security or first-aid staff members. They will aid you and contact a superior from the organization who can further help you. All the security staff members have followed a course and know how to handle the situation. There are female security staff members present as well. Alcohol and drugs use:

It’s well known that there are risks to the use of alcohol and/or drugs. But be extra careful when using alcohol and drugs at a temperature above 20 degrees Celsius. Alcohol and drugs increase the body temperature. So, if you’re dancing for a long period and drink too little the risk of overheating increases. Make sure to drink plenty of water but also not too much: 1 or 2 glasses per hour maximum. If you drink too much water in a short period, there’s also the risk of water poisoning. If someone dies when using alcohol/drugs, this is usually caused by overheating or water poisoning due to alcohol/drugs. So be extra careful and make sure to cool yourself down every now and then. Look out for each other and don’t leave each other’s side. Make sure to test your drugs before you visit the event. You can’t do this at the event itself. How often does the shuttle bus drive?

During Soenda Indoor Werkspoorkathedraal the shuttle bus drives constantly. There’s a bus departing every few minutes. If you want to take the bus at a busy time, this could mean that you have to wait for a bit. This will take between 15 - 30 minutes.

At which location can the taxi pick me up?

It’s not necessary to order a taxi if you want to go home because there will be plenty of taxis available at the taxi stand at the event. To get to the taxi stand, you have to follow the signs with ‘Taxi’ from the event. There will only be official taxis with the right permits at the taxi stand. If you’ve ordered a taxi or Uber yourself after all, then this taxi will be waiting for you at the Kiss & Ride. This is because ordered taxis aren’t allowed to wait at the taxi stand.

At which location can my ordered taxi pick me up?

Ordered taxis and Uber’s are referred to the Kiss & Ride. They will be waiting for you over there.

Yes, taxis aren’t charged to drop you off or pick you up at the event.

I want to use Uber. Is this possible?

Yes, during Soenda Indoor Werkspoorkathedraal, Uber taxis can drop you off and pick you up later on.

Where can the Uber taxi drop me off?

Let the Uber driver use ‘Gietijzerstraat, Utrecht’ as a navigation address if you’re travelling by Uber. After seeing the first sign follow the signs with ‘Taxi’ or ‘Kiss & Ride’ and follow the instructions of the traffic wardens.

Let the Uber driver use ‘Gietijzerstraat, Utrecht’ as a navigation address if you want to travel home by Uber. Also, let the Uber driver know that he/she has to follow the signs with ‘Kiss & Ride’. Walk towards the Kiss & Ride and wait here for your Uber.

No, during Soenda Indoor Werkspoorkathedraal there are no buses driving to the event from other cities.

Can I travel to Soenda Indoor Werkspoorkathedraal with a tour bus organized by myself?

Yes, this is possible. Please note that it is obligatory to register your bus at the organization. You can do so by sending an e-mail to info@elevation-events.com. You will then receive a registration form and instructions for you as the organizer and the bus company where you’ve rented the bus.

Where can I let the tour bus – that is organized by me – drop us off and pick us up later in the evening?

This information is described extensively in the instructions you will receive after the registration of your tour bus. ‘Gietijzerstraat, Utrecht’ can be used as a navigation address. From there, the bus driver has to follow the signs that say ‘Kiss and ride’ and follow the instructions of the traffic wardens.

Is it possible to park the tour bus – that is organized by me – at Soenda Indoor Werkspoorkathedraal for a longer period? 

No, unfortunately, this is not possible due to the lack of space at Soenda Indoor Werkspoorkathedraal. Tour buses have to leave immediately after the visitors have gotten off the bus. After being completed after the event, tour buses also have to leave immediately. Please keep our neighbours in mind when boarding the bus and make sure that the bus driver turns off the engine and music while waiting. 

I want to travel to Soenda Indoor Werkspoorkathedraal by bicycle, scooter or moped, is this possible?

Yes, you can travel to Soenda Indoor Werkspoorkathedraal by bicycle, scooter or moped – we even encourage this!

What is Soenda Indoor Werkspoorkathedraal?

Soenda Indoor Werkspoorkathedraal is an electronic-orientated music event with local, regional and national appeal, which is visited by approximately 6.000 people of 18 years and older. 

Visitors come to the event for the performances of national and international artists. At Soenda Indoor Werkspoorkathedraal there’s both room for young, local talent as for the international established names. Next to the various performances, there’s also room for food trucks with delicious food, there are installations of artists and architects that can be admired, and there are spectacular decors and light shows to be seen.

Soenda Indoor Werkspoorkathedraal takes place at the Werkspoorkathedraal in Utrecht. This is a multifunctional event venue where all sorts of events are organized.

Soenda Indoor Werkspoorkathedraal takes place on Friday, the 17th and on Saturday, November 18th 2023. On Friday the event starts at 22.00h and is finished at 07.00h. On Saturday the event starts at 14.00h and finishes at 23.00h. 

Who organizes Soenda Indoor Werkspoorkathedraal?

Soenda Indoor Werkspoorkathedraal is organized by Soenda Indoor Werkspoorkathedraal BV, which is part of Elevation Events. The organization from Utrecht was founded in 2009. The organization is involved in the development and organization of events: from concept to implementation. The self-producing organization contributes - with their creative and renewing concepts - to the appealing event agenda of young adults in Utrecht and the surrounding areas.

How do visitors access Soenda Indoor Werkspoorkathedraal?

Visitors travel to the event in different ways. Via our website and social media, visitors are advised and stimulated to travel to the event by bike or public transport. A large part of the visitors comes from the surrounding area, and because of this, there will be a bike shed set up at the parking lot of the Werkspoorkathedraal. 

Are there closures during the period that the build-up and breakdown of Soenda Indoor Werkspoorkathedraal take place?

No, all roads stay available for regular traffic. 

Can I reach my house and/or company despite the closures during Soenda Indoor Werkspoorkathedraal? 

Yes, all houses and companies can be reached at all times. All houses and companies who are located in closed-off areas have received a letter from us. When showing this letter (hardcopy or digital), you will receive direct access to the traffic posts. In case you have visitors, you can also share this letter with them to ensure fast passage at the traffic posts. If this is not possible for you, please contact us. The remaining closures don’t have any consequences for local residents or companies because there aren’t any or because these locations will remain accessible via another route.

Is public transport diverted during the closures around Soenda Indoor Werkspoorkathedraal

No, public transport will drive regularly, also during the closures. Public transport receives access to the traffic posts at all times. 

On which days is it allowed to produce sound?

On Friday (November 17th) it’s allowed to produce sound between 22.00 and 07.00, and on Saturday (November 18th) between 14.00 and 23.00. Prior to the events (Friday November 17th), it is allowed to produce sound between 16.00 and 22.00 (maximum of 2 hrs. in total) and on Saturday (18th of November) from 13.00 until 14.00 for the purpose of the soundcheck. During the soundcheck, two stages will be checked in phases. At one moment, the two stages will be checked simultaneously to arrange the measuring equipment properly.

Are there measurements and checks being carried out in terms of sound?

 The agreements regarding noise standards are established by the municipality of Utrecht. A specialized bureau places several measuring points in the area of the event venue on behalf of the organization.

 Next to this, the organization is able to carry out measurements at other locations. This equipment can be read out from a distance. There are measuring points installed on the stages as well so that the sound can be adjusted accurately if needed. Next to the own measurements on the initiative of the organization, the environmental service region Utrecht will check the sound on behalf of the municipality.

What tasks does the organization carry out to limit noise pollution?

 Before the event, a sound engineer draws up a sound plan on behalf of the organization. This is done so that it can already be examined in the preliminary phase, where possible noise nuisance could arise and how this can be limited. For example, the sound is aimed at the locations where the fewest people live, and advanced sound systems are used in which the sound is extinguished at the back of the speakers. Due to these measures, the noise is mainly aimed at the visitors, and the noise in the areas outside is limited as much as possible.

I’m still experiencing noise pollution. Is this possible? 

At Soenda Indoor Werkspoorkathedraal a lot of attention goes out to the limitation of noise nuisance. But unfortunately, there are a lot of external factors that influence the sound. The weather is mainly a factor that we as an organization can’t control but which can have a major influence. Due to a changing wind, for example, if you did not experience any nuisance earlier in the day, you can experience it later in the day. Next to this, the cooling of the air after a warm day can cause sound to carry on. But also, high 

 humidity can cause sound to be carried on more easily, which makes the sound audible from afar. 

Complaints?

As an organization, we spend a lot of attention to the limitation of noise pollution. However, we can’t always prevent you from experiencing inconvenience. Is the waste that is caused by the event cleaned up?

Yes, the organization has the obligation towards the Werkspoorkathedraal that the venue and its direct surroundings have to be left behind like it was found. The organization hires a cleaning company that is specialized in the cleaning of event venues. Both during and after the event, the company makes sure that the venue is being cleaned. The cleaning company also makes sure that litter next to the supply routes are being cleaned. 

Does Soenda Indoor Werkspoorkathedraal do something about sustainability? 

Yes, Soenda Indoor Werkspoorkathedraal and the organization behind Soenda Indoor Werkspoorkathedraal are committed to making the event world more sustainable and, by doing so, ultimately creating a better, cleaner and more social world.

 Next to this, we have created the “Local Legacy Program” to collect money by means of this foundation at, for example, our guestlist visitors. With this money, we have invested in sustainable projects during the past few years. For example, in the past year, there has been planted a 500m2 bee oasis at the event location of Soenda Festival, which ensures a better habitat for bees. What is done in the area of safety?

The organization has their own safety organization that consists of the following: 

• Specialists in the field of crowd management and crowd control;
• Healthcare professionals;
• Mobility experts;
• Security staff;
• Lifeguards;
• Fire safety advisors.

In collaboration with external parties, the municipality of Utrecht, the policy, GHOR, the fire brigade and the safety region Utrecht the safety of the event is secured. Together the internal safety organization and external parties draw up a safety plan.
